Kenny
AKA "The Boss" is feeling much better now.
I wanted to post before our emergency trip to UB but it was, well, an emergency so we were in a bit of a hurry. Apparently he caught some kind of bacteria and was throwing up and having diarrhea and fever. He woke up in a lot of pain and was screaming in the middle of the night so we left as soon as we could. It's about a 3 hour trip and he gave us a bit of a scare on the way. At one point it looked like he was going to pass out. Thank God the only pediatrician I trust in the country was there and she was able to pinpoint the problem. The medicines she prescribed helped and he's now back to his old, bossy self.
When did he turn into a toddler, anyway? Where was I? Almost overnight he went from being my sweet little baby to telling people what to do. He even tells people what to eat! Seriously, if he's eating a tomato (yes, we walks around eating a tomato like an apple) he insists that everyone else in the house eat a tomato, too. And that goes for anything else he thinks we should eat.
And he does this other thing I don't get. It goes like this:
Kenny asks for bread.
I give him a slice of bread.
He throws his head back and screams.
What did I miss?
The other day he really threw me for a loop. He was in his usual grouchy, bossy mood and he walked into the kitchen and announced, with a scowl, that he wanted "damn bread".
What?!
He repeated, "damn bread".
After some investigating I figured out that he was trying to say "jam and bread". Now it's a joke. When the kids are not around Hetee asks me to pass the "damn bread".
The only thing that holds Kenny's interest these days is coloring. He doesn't bother turning the page when he's finished, though. Nope, he just rips it out. We're working on that.
I know that part of Kenny's struggle is just that he's growing up. He can communicate very well, just not as well as he would like and it frustrates him. It frustrates me, too but hopefully it'll be over soon.
Until then, I'm happy to report that he is feeling better and I want to say a quick "thank you" to those of you who were praying for him.
