Frugal Friday: Face Wash

A long time ago I resigned myself to the fact that there was no soap or cleanser in the world that was right for my face. I'd tried just about everything but it just never felt right.

Then I remembered a tip I'd heard a long time ago about using baking soda as a mild exfoliator/face wash. I tried it and, amazingly it worked really well. In fact, that's all I've been using for the past 2 months!

After using the baking soda for a while, I experimented by mixing a drop or so of baby shampoo with the baking soda. Again, the results were just what I wanted-- to cut the greasiness without over drying my face.

So, my face wash consists of BS (baking soda) and BS (baby shampoo) haha.

Both are very cheap and are usually kept on hand.

I just wanted to leave you a comment on your blog to let you know that I admire what you and your husband are doing over in Mongolia. Especially for the women that live there. I do not believe in abortion, and I am celebrating every victory that you make when you save another unborn child. I love reading your blog entries, and will continue to read them.

I have never thought about using baking soda to cleanse my face. I always have a hard time finding any type of facial wash that will cleanse all areas of my face equally. (I have combination skin, so some parts are oily and some parts are dry.) I think I will have to try this sometime this week to see how it does on my face. Thank you for the tip.

Take care!

BS is always cheap isn't it? Ha ha
I'm pleasantly surprised that the baking soda doesn't dry out your skin. What a unique tip -thanks!
