Vacation

I'm the type of person who feels overwhelmed when I don't post for a long period of time. I can feel things piling up in my brain and just don't have the energy to process them and write.

But anyway, here's something I really, really wanted to share with you all--a little update complete with pictures documenting our little vacation we took at the Terelj, National Park about 80 km outside of Ulaan Baatar. It was our family, our 2 UB church pastors and their families (well, one couple didn't bring their kids) and 2 young girls who came along to help us with the kids. We spent 3 nights and 4 days in a luxurious hotel courtesy FCBC in Singapore. It was a team building trip so there was lots of time for fellowship and late night talks. During the day we ate our meals together, rode horses, played soccer, and even got to shoot real arrows!

Relaxing on a log that was perfect for relaxing. I could've used more sun, though.

My Mongol riders, Nate and Hetee

Kenny and I enjoyed the horses as well

Before...

After (the branch snapped and falling face first into the water!) I haven't laughed that hard in years!

We got to see life size statues of dinosaurs! They used to roam freely across the very landscape we see every day!

Abi was thrilled to see "Little Foot" up close

After exploring a dry part of the river bed I noticed this sign:

Joking, right?

Hiking buddies: Kenny and Tenges

BFF: Abi with Boloro, my helper. She's a gift from God!

Only in Mongolia! On the way home we stumbled on a Kazak man with his eagle and camels.

The kids got to pet him. They both said he was scratchier than they expected. We had a science class about eagles in the car the rest of the way.

Back in UB we spent another night then headed home. While in UB, Hetee and I did some shopping and look what I found!

This happens to be my favorite candy and until now, I have never been able to find it here. I was having a pretty depressing day so it was the perfect pick-me-up.
